Kabul Municipality District 15 Manager Congratulates City for All (CFA) Team

Kabul, 8 January 2019. The Kabul Municipality Nahia Manager for District 15 has awarded the City For All (CFA) Survey Team with a certificate “for accurate and well planned work in surveying and registering of properties”. CFA is a government programme which aims at surveying and registering informal urban properties in 12 cities. So far, 340,000 properties have already been registered in Kabul Municipality since the launch of this programme in 2016.

In the framework of an unprecedented land reform, the Government of Afghanistan is issuing occupancy certificates in urban informal areas thereby guaranteeing the right to stay without the threat of eviction. Since 2018, occupancy certificates have been distributed in Kabul, Herat, Jalalabad, Nili and Bamyan cities. The latest distribution took place in December 2018 in Kabul with the issuance of 1,000 certificates.

Land tenure security is a precondition for development that encourages economic investments and bolsters job opportunities for the beneficiaries.
