Achieving Better Living Standards in Kabul through Land Tenure Security

Kabul, 05 April 2018- City for All (CFA) has become an integral part of the United Nations development, peace and human rights efforts in Afghanistan. The promotion of land tenure security is indeed a good opportunity to achieve better living standards, securing investments, empowering Afghan women and ending illegal land grabbing.

CFA is currently supporting Kabul and other 11 municipalities to survey and register all properties within their municipal boundaries. In Kabul, CFA has already surveyed and registered 183,336 properties. Preliminary findings indicate that only 14% of the surveyed properties in the capital city are in possession of a formal title deed. The formal registration of informal properties will not only increase their value but will also boost job creation and socio-economic development.
