Meet with Qudratullah

Kandahar, 11 April 2018- Qudrutullah, 22, is a resident of Kandahar. After completion of the 12th grade, he was desperately looking for a job for almost 2.5 years. Qudratullah is also responsible for earning the livelihood of a family of eight members.

One day I heard about UN-Habitat CGC program and went to the head of district 13th Development Committee looking for a professional opportunity. I am very much thankful to USAID for sponsoring this programme providing job opportunities while making our cities clean and green”. Qudrutullah said.

One of Qudrutullah’s objectives in life was the continuation of his higher education studies. However, his financial condition did not allow him do so. Qudratullah had a significant financial loan to pay.

“Now I am able to continue my higher studies as well as supporting financially my family. Thanks to this job opportunity I have also been released from my loan. I am working with CGC programme during the day and going university in the evening. I appreciate such programmes and hope to have more in the future”.

Clean and Green Cities Programme is creating livelihood opportunities for vulnerable families, women-headed households, internally displaced, returnees and urban poor in twelve cities of Afghanistan.
