Transforming the lives of Afghan Women

Jalalabad, 10 April 2018- Meet with Mrs. Said Bar Bibi, a beneficiary of the UN-Habitat Clean and Green City (CGC) Programme funded by USAID and the European Union.

Mrs Bar Bibi has never worked before outside her house. For so many years, her daily life was limited to her kids, husband and family. War and conflict worsened her human condition and basic humanitarian needs. Mrs Bibi, 45 years old, took a courageous decision and accepted to be part of the CGC programme activities cleaning her city, collecting and segregating waste, planting trees and contributing to the beautification of Jalalabad. More than 13.500 people have been hired by our programme, mostly women, displaced persons, refugees and vulnerable populations.
