Herat: Shayeqa Tawakol is 50 year old woman who is living in District 6 for 12 years. She says that before this project she did not have the opportunity to work and assist the community. “We were just staying home, but now we have the opportunity to work and do our part and shares in the community. We are implementing learning and training courses for the women of this GA and we have established a kindergarten for the children of the community. The challenges my people and I faced, were lack of opportunity to contribute to the community, equal opportunity to assist the society, place to get together and work towards a specific goal, opportunity to get training and learn a profession, lack of opportunity to get in contact, meet and discuss our problems and opportunity for income generation”.

She expects these kinds of program will continue to support women and assist them until they can stand on their feet and continue towards success and improvement. She added that all involved are assisting the project in different parts and will continue our supports. She says that the garbage and mud which were contaminating the streets but now the area are cleaned and this improved the environment. She added that women who are involved in the projects intend to use their income for cleaning of the site and for planting trees.
